Day 1 of Blaugust
I've decided I'm going to participate in Blaugust 2026, and I'm excited for it this year! I posted almost every day in July, so I think it should be fairly easy for me to manage posting every day this month. I got a little burnt out on it last year, but I don't think that'll be the case this time around. I'm feeling quite optimistic about it.
July was very hot, for the most part. It cooled down at the end of the month, so we've been enjoying some nice mild days this past week, as well as some rain. When we took Ranni to the dog park today, it was raining softly, and the tree canopy provided a natural umbrella.
We had a few excursions planned for July, and I wrote about our first one. The second one was attending the monthly Commander Day for Magic the Gathering at a barcade in town. We did go to the barcade, but we got the date wrong and missed Commander Day. 😆 We just hung out and played Magic anyway while ordering drinks and food. It was Danny, myself, my cousin, my brother-in-law, and a friend of ours.
We had a horror movie marathon planned the following weekend, but we ended up going to see Evil Dead Burn that day, so we cut a couple of movies from the marathon and just watched Obsession and Ghostwatch. You can see all the movies I've watched this year and my thoughts on them at my Letterboxd.
The last excursion I had planned was a trip to Atlanta, but we haven't found a good time for it yet, so that's been moved to August. Hopefully we'll make our way there to visit the botanical garden and H Mart soon.
Gaming accomplishments in July:
Finally beat RE3make on Nightmare mode! Now I just need to do Inferno...
Beat the main story in Hades. I'm working on unlocking the epilogue now.
Made some progress on unlocking things in Balatro. I'm working on Purple Stake difficulty with the red deck at the moment.
Enjoyed lots of co-op with Danny and my cousin. We played Left 4 Dead 2, Back 4 Blood, Flock Around, and RV There Yet?
Game of the month: The Seance of Blake Manor. Absolutely adored it and couldn't stop playing.
