It's time for another edition of "things I've found around the internet recently that I think are really cool."
Conversations with my mother - This older post at Forking Mad had me chuckling, mainly because I've had so many similar conversations with my own mother.
lessons on committing to creativity - I liked this post by Cuifen about committing to creative habits, and I'm trying to take inspiration from it for myself. It's very difficult for me to stick to a routine, as I've realized I'm simply a spontaneous type of person, but I still try in hopes that eventually I'll come across something that sticks. I think Cuifen's thoughts and process here can be helpful for a lot of folks.
I really like Jedda's micro thoughts. It's fun to look back on an entire month of random thoughts or shouting into the void, as Jedda calls it. I might implement this on my own blog. I have a status log at omg.lol that I kept up with regularly in the past and am trying to get back to using again.
Why Seattle's new train is a big deal - I'm a big fan of public transit, and I try to keep abreast of the latest news in that realm. My favorite public transit system is Seattle's Sound Transit. I've been on the light rails before, and it's such a wonderful experience. I also love how far the system has come in just a few years and the plans for the future, which I hope the city gets behind fully. It's a newer system but a robust one and a great example of what can be done when public transit is prioritized. Anyway, all that is to say that I absolutely loved this YouTube video by Trains Are Awesome about Seattle's new train and line.
I'm really enjoying Corbin The Raven Boy's zines at ZinesForever! So many great ideas here.
