Ranni <3
I thought I'd do a little post dedicated to Ranni, as it's been a while since I've done one that's solely about her.
Here she is, sleepy in her favorite spot, the futon in my office:

She has grown to have a full and distinct personality. She's quite headstrong and set in her ways. She loves going places, but she loves coming back home even more. She has a ton of energy and absolutely adores the dog park, where she can chase a ball to her heart's content. Playing fetch with the Chuck It and a ball is her number one favorite thing to do, and she's quite talented at it. She impresses people at the park with her ability to jump high and catch the ball in midair.
She's quite vocal, so we definitely know when she wants something or is expressing her opinion about something. She has some anxiety, especially when it comes to loud noises like thunder, fireworks, planes, etc. We have vet-prescribed medicine to give her if we know a storm is coming, which seems to work pretty well at mellowing her out.
I work from home, so I'm with her almost 24/7, but that's not the case with Danny, who has to go in to the restaurant where he works. Sometimes, when he's been gone for a while, she sinks into what we've dubbed her Sad Girl Times™️, where she'll get mopey and she'll go the window a lot, checking to see if he's back yet. She doesn't always do this, but there are definitely days when she gets a little depressed that he's gone. In her ideal world, we would both be with her all the time.
My hope is that one day she'll be interested in swimming. She seems to really love water, as long as she can reach the bottom. She loves wading and splashing around in shallow water, but the second it gets so deep that she has to swim, she nopes out. She does seem to be getting a little more tolerant of deeper water, though, so hopefully in the future she'll be more okay with swimming, but it's definitely something I want to be gradual and intentional about. I selfishly want her to be my little swimming buddy.
Maybe I'm biased, but I think she's the most beautiful dog in the world. <3
