Some Small Projects

This is a picture-heavy post. I wanted to show off a few things I've been working on lately in the worlds of web design and games. They're all pretty small projects, but they allow me to flex my creative muscles a bit and make me feel happy in the midst of gestures widely.

Koudelka Fansite

One of my favorite video game websites, Critical Distance, is hosting a fansite jam! I've been wanting to make a fansite or shrine dedicated to my all-time favorite game, Koudelka, for a long time, and this was the perfect opportunity to finally get my butt in gear. So I've designed and written the index page for my new Koudelka fansite! The rest of the site is a work-in-progress, but I'll be updating it over the next month to have it fully finished by the deadline of February 28th.

Wish Room: Hotel Dusk Shrine

I also took some time to completely redo the layout for my Hotel Dusk shrine, which I've dubbed Wish Room, a reference to the room Kyle Hyde stays in during the course of the game. I still need to finish the extras section and maybe make a link button since it's listed in a directory now, but I'm happy with the way it looks!

Lacuna Coil Shrine

I updated my one-page Lacuna Coil shrine to be more accessible, and I changed the header image to their new logo and added the crow skull image for a little visual flair. This shrine gives me the warm fuzzies. I've been a fan of Lacuna Coil since I was 14, so they're one of my comfort bands.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Hotel Update

I've been decorating my new hotel rooms in Animal Crossing, and I'm quite proud of them! I thought I'd show off one of my favorites. The theme for this room was a log cabin. I love the way the little bathroom turned out, and my favorite piece of furniture is the bookshelf above the bed. It's part of the new furniture added with the update, and it's going to be hard not to use it in every room design from now on!

Making My First Game

I decided to try my hand at making a small game on Downpour. I've enjoyed playing others' games on there, such as Per Person Refillable and Gary's Fortune Telling Tent. It seems like a fun way to bring an idea to life -- and I have an idea!

My game is called Cafe of Things Once Forgotten Now Remembered. It combines two of my favorite things: coffee and music! It's going to involve some lyrics from songs I love and consider kind of mystical, and I'll be using my own photos. I'll share it here once I'm finished!
